Q: Tell us about your current work roles.
I work with driven women, mainly business owners and leaders, who want to step forward into Soul Leadership, a feeling of alignment between inner trust and outward empowerment.
Q: What led you to that career?
I learned a cognitive somatic tool (EFT Tapping) that shifted my mindset and the way that I saw myself. I let go of years of old patterns and programming and started to get clear on what I really wanted for my life. I felt that I had a purpose to guide other women to do the same.
Q: What is your educational background?
I have a BBA and a CPA. When I was in school it was a down economy so I chose to pursue a career that was safe and stable.
Q: Did you have any life-changing experiences that led you to what you’re doing today?
I say I hit my rock bottom after going on a soul-searching journey around the world. I was looking for peace, love, connection, and I hadn’t found it after 10 months of travel. It was a low point. I was in my early 30’s, jobless, recently single and living with my parents. That is when I knew there was only one place left to look – within. When I went there, everything on the outside began to finally shift.
I knew there was only one place left to look – within. When I went there, everything on the outside began to finally shift.
Q: How has your family and upbringing influenced your career choices?
Like most first-generation Americans, my parents made a lot of sacrifices to give me a better life. They want me to succeed but at the same time they were unknowingly passing on survive programming – fear, scarcity, being on the outside. When I was unknowingly operating from this mindset, I choose the stable career, worked really hard, always craving outside validation. But once my income and my lifestyle went beyond survival, I needed to release that pattern if I really wanted to thrive and live a life that felt like my own.
Q: What are you most proud of accomplishing?
I’m most proud of choosing myself. That may sound selfish to a lot of people, but it’s only when we choose ourselves that we will really be happy. And it’s actually selfless because it takes the burden off of everyone else in our life.
Q: What would you say motivates you most to do what you do?
The awakening that I consistently see in my clients. All the messages, DM’s, feedback they give me about how they are stepping into their power. The world changes one person at a time.
On Making a Career Shift
Q: How did you find the courage to leap from one field to another?
At the very beginning, I think it was less courage, more naivety. I thought women who wanted this transformation would fall out of the sky. I had to learn a lot after I made the leap, especially in areas that didn’t come naturally well to me like writing and marketing.
The courage is sitting in this unknown and uncomfortable space and still believing in yourself enough to stay in action.
Q: What has been the greatest challenge for you when it comes to switching careers?
I miss a team. Owning your own business can come with a lot of loneliness. It’s important to develop and join communities of peers, which for me has been wonderful because it's full of like-minded women. I feel that I can be the fullest expression of myself.
Q: What advice do you have for others who are still trying to find their passions?
I think you can have a passion for art, food, travel and not necessarily make money from it. However, if you have a purpose, you should find a way to pursue it. Your soul, that inner knowing place, will never stop ‘nagging’ you if you don’t.
Take messy action to make it happen.
Q: What’s next for you, what are you looking forward to?
I’m looking forward to growing my business. Adding more arms to my mission including a foundation to bring EFT Tapping to natural disaster areas globally and to work with younger women to empower them much earlier in their journeys.
